Meltwater has announced the launch of its new Meltwater Copilot, developed in collaboration with Microsoft.
Meltwater Copilot is designed to enhance how communications and marketing professionals interact with data by integrating artificial intelligence with user-friendly features within Microsoft Teams environments.
This next-generation communications assistant enables users to obtain real-time insights, including brand mentions, sentiment analysis, key issues, and competitive benchmarking.
Users can interact with data using natural language, allowing for simplified search creation, streamlined reporting, and other tasks like writing press releases.
"Meltwater Copilot bridges the gap between data and insight, allowing users to interact with Meltwater data using conversational language," explained a Meltwater spokesperson. "This means that the right insight is not only just a simple request away but also presented in a way that is easy to action, empowering comms and marketing teams through data."
In collaboration with Microsoft, Meltwater has utilized various technologies, including Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service and Microsoft 365, to offer these advanced capabilities. The Meltwater Copilot App for Teams and extension for Copilot for Microsoft 365 leverage both parties' AI technologies to process more than a billion pieces of information each day.
As part of its Mid-Year Release, Meltwater also introduced several other innovations powered by its AI engine. These include a new search assistant leveraging ChatGPT APIs, which simplifies the creation of Boolean searches through natural language requests. A unified AI assistant has also been integrated to understand context, make recommendations, and perform tasks such as writing press releases and generating reports.
A daily digest feature, which summarizes the most important news and coverage, helps teams stay updated on relevant industry trends and competitor activity. Another noteworthy innovation is AI-Powered Influencer Discovery, which accelerates influencer identification by suggesting influencers based on campaign goals and strategies using AI-generated search prompts.
Chris Hackney, Meltwater's Chief Product Officer, commented, "At Meltwater, our goal is to ensure technology serves the needs of our users. We don't just add features for the sake of novelty or to ride the latest tech trend. Our focus is on empowering our customers to achieve remarkable outcomes with solutions that truly simplify their workflows and effort levels."
Steve Clayton, Vice President of Communications Strategy at Microsoft, added, "The work Microsoft and Meltwater are doing will help reinvent the communications industry with the power of AI. Together, we are putting tools in the hands of the practitioners that combine the art and science of communications and delivering this capability in a more natural, intuitive way where people are already getting things done—in Microsoft Teams."
Currently, Meltwater Copilot is available to a limited group of joint Meltwater and Microsoft customers as part of Meltwater's Mid-Year Release.
The unveiling took place at the Meltwater Summit in New York City, where industry professionals from various leading brands gathered for sessions and discussions focused on media, social, and consumer intelligence.
The innovations presented in this release reflect Meltwater's commitment to harnessing nearly two decades of data investment and leveraging advanced generative AI developments.
Meltwater aims to provide tools that not only save time and streamline workflows but also enable marketing and communications professionals to make more effective and timely decisions.
