Amazon Q's AI increases business productivity by almost 50%
In an era increasingly defined by digital transformation, businesses are embracing generative artificial intelligence (AI) to bolster employee productivity by up to 49%. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the charge with the launch of its AI assistant for business, Amazon Q.
The new platform provides users with fast, accurate answers to important questions, offers practical solutions and generates content using the data and expertise available within the company's code, information repositories and enterprise systems. Furthermore, Amazon Q can be utilised to complete tasks in well-known programs such as Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Zendesk. This enables employees to quickly and seamlessly carry out actions such as opening a ticket in Jira or creating a case in Salesforce.
National Australia Bank (NAB) has been at the forefront of using Amazon Q Developer to pursue optimization in their workflow. Andrew Brydon, Executive Chief Engineer at NAB, stated, "At NAB, teams across the bank are excited about how generative AI can transform our work, and we've found a great solution in Amazon Q Developer." Brydon further added that this tool "has seamlessly integrated advanced generative algorithms and tools into our development process, delivering unparalleled benefits like completing tasks faster, increasing productivity, and minimising repetitive actions."
This innovative AI-powered tool has been well received by NAB developers, who have accepted half of the code suggestions made by Amazon Q Developer. Brydon predicts that this acceptance rate will escalate as the tool continues to be adopted more widely across their system.
Besides being a powerful tool in the financial sector, Amazon Q is also beginning to make ripples in sports training. Swimming Australia, preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics, is utilising Amazon Q in its state-of-the-art athletic improvement system, Sparta 2, and Lane Four – a real-time data and analysis portal for coaches. Jessica Corones, Head of Performance Insights and Olympic Campaign Lead at Swimming Australia, shared, "Our coaches are not tech people and we don't want them to be. Amazon Q is going to help them query the data using their natural language."
As technology continues to drive productivity and innovation across various industries, the adoption of AI-powered tools like Amazon Q is indicative of a future where AI plays a central role in everyday business practices. These cutting-edge technologies not only augment workforce efficiency but also have the potential to revolutionize business operations by offering creative solutions and personalized services to consumers.
