Crestron has launched Collab Compute in India, introducing the product alongside its broader workplace technology portfolio at InfoComm India in Mumbai.

Positioned as a hardware platform for hybrid meetings, Collab Compute is aimed at professional AV environments. It combines computing, AV connectivity and collaboration support in one system for deployments based on Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms.

The device is built on Intel Core Ultra processors with integrated neural processing units. It also supports multiple displays, peripherals, professional audio, multi-camera systems and room automation.

The launch was the centrepiece of Crestron's presence at the Mumbai trade show, where it also demonstrated products across collaboration, intelligent video, audio, room control and workplace systems. Products on show included Videobar 70, AirMedia, 1 Beyond i12D, DM-NAX and Automate VX.

The announcement comes as technology suppliers target demand from companies adapting meeting rooms and shared workspaces for hybrid working. Vendors in this segment are increasingly pitching integrated systems that combine conferencing, control, video and audio functions in a single environment.

Crestron said its approach is designed to simplify deployment for customers and partners managing modern meeting spaces. It also pointed to demand for connected workplace systems as organisations review office use and how staff move between in-person and remote collaboration.

Gagan Verma, Vice President - India & SAARC, Crestron, said the shift is reshaping workplace design.

"The workplace is evolving from individual meeting rooms into connected environments where collaboration, communication and intelligent technology need to work seamlessly together. With Collab Compute and our broader portfolio, we are bringing organisations a foundation that is designed not only for the way people collaborate today, but also for how these spaces will evolve," said Gagan Verma, Vice President - India & SAARC, Crestron.

He also linked the launch to the company's broader regional efforts.

"InfoComm India provides an important platform for us to engage with customers, partners and the wider Pro AV ecosystem and demonstrate how an integrated approach can simplify technology while delivering better experiences," said Verma.

India focus

India has become an increasingly important market for workplace and AV technology providers as businesses expand office footprints, update meeting infrastructure and seek standardised systems across sites. International suppliers are using the market both as a source of growth and as a testing ground for products aimed at flexible workspace models.

Crestron's regional leadership said it sees that shift reflected in customer demand. The company framed its India push as part of a wider Asia strategy tied to workplace technology adoption.

"India is playing an increasingly important role in Asia's evolving workplace technology landscape. Organisations are looking for solutions that are flexible, intelligent and scalable, and our presence at InfoComm India reflects Crestron's commitment to supporting this transformation. The event provides us an opportunity to engage with customers and partners and showcase how integrated technology can create more seamless workplace experiences," said Jacques Bertrand, Executive Vice President, Asia, Crestron.

Crestron, headquartered in the United States, sells products used in meeting rooms, offices and other managed spaces. Its portfolio spans control systems, conferencing products, audio and video hardware, workplace software and cloud-based management tools.

According to the company, the response from industry professionals at the event pointed to rising interest in integrated collaboration and AV systems. The launch also underlined its emphasis on connected workplace environments that bring together room technology, communications and automation in a single setup.

For buyers in India, the launch adds another option in a market where organisations are weighing how much processing, control and conferencing functionality should sit inside the room rather than in separate components. That decision has become more relevant as companies seek to standardise user experience across offices while keeping installation and support manageable.

Collab Compute enters that discussion as Crestron seeks a larger role in the infrastructure behind hybrid meetings and digitally managed workspaces.
