Fynd Founder Sreeraman MG has been appointed Co-Lead of the Global Tech Advocates RetailTech Group alongside Oliver Kaye. Together, they will lead a network of nearly 1,000 advocates.

Russ Shaw, Founder of Tech London Advocates and Global Tech Advocates, announced the appointment at Source Fashion London. Kaye has held Chief Executive Officer and other senior leadership roles at retailers including Lenskart, Tesco, Selfridges, Gap India and Calvin Klein India.

Global Tech Advocates' RetailTech Group brings together retail technology founders and retailers using those tools. Its work spans artificial intelligence, automation, data, loyalty, supply chains, fulfilment, payments, sustainability and marketplaces.

For Fynd, the role raises the profile of one of its senior figures within a network focused on retail change across the UK and international markets. Mumbai-based Fynd, backed by Reliance Retail Ventures, serves more than 20,000 stores and 300 retailers.

The leadership change also marks a handover from Shaw, who launched the retail technology working group within Tech London Advocates nearly a decade ago. The network later grew into the current Global Tech Advocates RetailTech Group, supported by a broader group of contributors.

Leadership change

According to the organisation, Sreeraman and Kaye bring experience across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the UK. Their backgrounds combine retail technology infrastructure and retail operations, reflecting the group's aim of linking software builders with commercial operators.

The group has positioned itself as a forum for retail founders, brands and operating executives to exchange views on how commerce is changing. In the UK, the appointment is intended to strengthen links between founders in the region and international retail operators.

Shaw described the move as part of the group's development over several years. "When we launched the RetailTech working group within Tech London Advocates nearly a decade ago, it started as a small, passionate team. Today, it has matured into a thriving community of advocates dedicated to understanding and driving technology's profound impact across the retail sector.

I am thrilled to welcome the combined leadership of SMG and Oliver to maintain this fantastic momentum and take the group to the next level. Their exceptional international retail and infrastructure experience will help expand the group, spotlighting key retail innovations from every corner of the world.

This evolution aligns with Global Tech Advocates' core mission: to support international tech hubs, while simultaneously cementing the UK's position as one of the world's most dynamic and fastest-growing tech ecosystems." said Russ Shaw, Founder, Tech London Advocates & Global Tech Advocates.

Retail focus

Sreeraman founded Fynd and has spent the past decade working in retail technology across several markets. The company has been expanding its presence in the UK and in other regions including the Gulf, Africa and Southeast Asia.

He said the network's value lay in direct contact between technology companies and retail operators. "The most valuable conversations in retail happen when the people building the technology and the people running the operations are in the same room. Russ and the Tech London Advocates built exactly that, and have grown it into something the industry genuinely needs. I'm honoured to take this forward alongside Oliver and committed to making sure the community continues to reflect what's actually happening at the frontier of global retail." said Sreeraman MG, Founder, Fynd, and Co-Lead, GTA RetailTech Group.

Kaye comes from the retail operating side, with experience running stores, operations and profit-and-loss accounts across the UK, Europe and India. His appointment gives the group a co-leadership structure that pairs a technology founder with a retail executive.

He said retailers often struggle to distinguish useful ideas from hype. "Having spent my career on the retail side, running stores, operations and P&Ls across the UK, Europe and India, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to separate genuine innovation from the noise. The real value of this group is that it puts retailers in the exact same room as the builders, rather than having them watch from a distance. I'm incredibly excited to bring that same practical rigour to how we grow this community." said Kaye.

According to the organisation, Ani Kaprekar supported the transition, with Jack Porteous and Eoife Huo also involved in the handover.
