Konica Minolta, an industry leader in print and imaging technology, has announced the appointment of Melissa Dempsey to the role of Chief Marketing Officer. This strategic move reinforces the company's market position in Australia and New Zealand and is designed to support its on-going customer experience (CX)-led transformation.

Dempsey will focus on enhancing Konica Minolta's leadership position in the print and imaging technology sector, as well as establishing a stronger identity as a trusted partner for managed IT services. With over 20 years of experience in the tech sector, most of her career spent leading high-performing teams in multinational companies such as NortonLifeLock and Symantec, Dempsey's appointment marks a significant change for Konica Minolta.

Throughout her impressive career, Dempsey has honed a skill set that encompasses business innovation and digital transformation. This includes launching new product portfolios, implementing novel go-to-market strategies, driving new branding and product campaigns and leading vital projects to bring about changes in people, processes and internal behaviours. Her comprehensive experience in the cybersecurity sector has given her unique insight into the challenges facing contemporary businesses and the importance of building trust.

The managing director of Konica Minolta Australia, Yohei Konaka, heralded Dempsey's appointment, saying, "Melissa brings a wealth of industry experience and a proven ability to understand our customers and partners. Her unique skills will ensure that traditional print customers continue to be supported by diversified solutions and services, while also introducing Konica Minolta's offerings to a new generation."

Eric Holtsmark, managing director at Konica Minolta New Zealand, echoed Konaka’s sentiments, adding that "having Melissa on board is fantastic. Since our establishment over three years ago, we have grown fast and expanding our offerings is the next step in our evolution."

On her appointment, Melissa Dempsey states, "Joining Konica Minolta, a brand with a 150-year-old legacy, is incredibly exciting. Helping customers better understand their digital journey from an end-to-end perspective and successfully transform their businesses is a key driver for me. I look forward to delivering value in a space steeped in tradition, while also investing in the future of Konica Minolta Australia and New Zealand."

Expressing the strategic aim of her role, she adds, "Strategically placing the customer experience at the core of our business, and expanding our IT portfolio, are critical steps that will strengthen Konica Minolta's reputation as a business solutions provider, as well as a managed service provider into the future."
