Liquidnitro names ex-EA CTO after USD $19.1m raise

Liquidnitro Games has appointed Cedrick Collomb as Chief Technology Officer following the game developer's USD $19.1 million Series A funding round.
Collomb joins after senior technology roles at Tencent Games Global and EA Mobile, adding a high-profile executive as the company expands its use of artificial intelligence in game production and live services.
The appointment comes as game companies face higher development costs, longer production cycles, and growing pressure to maintain titles after launch in an increasingly crowded market. Liquidnitro argues that these conditions have changed the economics of making games, particularly for publishers trying to build titles for multiple regions while managing live operations.
Based in Hyderabad, Liquidnitro says it has grown to more than 140 developers and specialists over the past two years and expects that figure to exceed 200 by the end of its fiscal year. Total funding now stands at USD $24.3 million.
Collomb will oversee long-term technology strategy and market positioning. His remit includes the company's internal platform, which is designed to support game development, launch management, live operations, and regional expansion.
Before joining Liquidnitro, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Tencent Games Global and previously held the same role at EA Mobile. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at AMD, Pearson, Kabam, LucasArts, and Sony Computer Entertainment.
The company's strategy centres on using AI tools within production teams rather than replacing them. That position differs from parts of the market where software groups and start-ups have promoted more automated approaches to content creation, analytics, and development workflows.
Liquidnitro says its business spans three main areas: early-stage game production, end-to-end live services, and support for publishers expanding into regions such as India, the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia. Those markets are becoming increasingly important for publishers seeking audience growth beyond more mature gaming territories.
Its internal technology stack includes products called Geoplay, Nitro Forge, Nitro Brain, and Nitro Blocks. The company describes Geoplay as an AI-enabled operating system that combines game development, live service management, and player data in a single framework.
For gaming companies, the broader question is whether AI can reduce inefficiencies without undermining creative output. Developers and publishers have been weighing the appeal of faster production tools against concerns that too much automation could weaken originality or disrupt studio employment.
Liquidnitro's leadership argues that AI should serve as a support layer for experienced teams. The aim, it says, is to improve product decisions and execution while preserving the human judgment behind game design and player engagement.
That message appears aimed at an industry where publishers are under pressure to manage risk more tightly. Big-budget game development has become more expensive, player tastes have become harder to predict, and live-service titles require continuous updates, events, and monetisation decisions after release.
Sandeep Kowdley, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Liquidnitro Games, outlined the company's view of Collomb's appointment.
"Cedrick's experience, strategic vision, and deep understanding of where our industry is headed will be a tremendous unlock for Liquidnitro," said Kowdley. "Our ambition has always been to build one of the world's leading games companies, and the companies that define the future of this industry will be powered by exceptional technology and platforms. Over the last two years we've invested heavily in a proprietary technology ecosystem anchored by our AI-based agentic operating platform. Cedrick will play a pivotal role in leading that strategy and making sure our technology helps teams build better games, unlock greater creativity, and deliver player experiences that resonate."
For Liquidnitro, the hire also signals an effort to turn recent fundraising into operational scale. Bringing in an executive with experience across major global publishers and technology groups may strengthen the company's pitch to partners seeking development support and regional execution.
Collomb said the company had identified structural issues in the market and built tools to address them.
"I'm excited to join such an accomplished team, including dear former colleagues from EA," said Collomb. "Liquidnitro is a rare company where leadership genuinely understands that technology is a multiplier for game development. The team has identified real, endemic challenges facing the industry and built AI solutions that scale its combined experience and deep expertise. I strongly believe Liquidnitro's approach will transform the entire game lifecycle from creation, launch to scale and enable a new value equation for the industry."
