Pure Storage appoints Lynn Lucas as new Chief Marketing Officer
Pure Storage, a highly regarded data storage provider, has announced the appointment of accomplished B2B veteran Lynn Lucas as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Lucas has over a quarter of a century's worth of experience in the field and was recently recognised as one of the Fearless 50 customer-led marketers of 2023. Her appointment comes at a crucial time for Pure Storage, as the company continues its deliveries of sustainable data storage technology and services to top-tier brands including NASA, Virgin Media O2, Roblox, and Meta.
Lucas will join Pure Storage in their endeavour to become an industry leader in hybrid cloud data storage and management, a diverse market that requires simplicity, scalability, and sustainability. She brings firsthand experience and awards-recognised prowess from her tenure at other high growth SaaS companies including Cohesity, as well as global brands such as Cisco and Veritas.
Pure Storage's appointment of Lucas comes at a critical time, with 73% of IT buyers not adequately prepared for the energy requirements of AI, reinforcing the need for the tech industry to find sustainable solutions to mitigate the climate crisis. The company's sustainable data storage technology and services are making strides in this regard. In recent financial reports, the company reveals a robust year-on-year growth, with the last quarter's revenue standing at $762.8 million, a 13% increase from the previous year, elevating its total cash and marketable securities to $1.35bn.
Lucas is set to report directly to Pure Storage's Chief Operating Officer, Matt Burr. Burr praises Lucas's experience and skills, stating that "Drawing from her years of experience helping shape successful companies, Lynn's marketing prowess will only further our highly differentiated leadership position and the value we provide to our customers." Lucas will work closely with the executive leadership team to drive a global marketing strategy tailored to propel the company to the next stage of growth. This trajectory includes navigating the current cloud operating model landscape and addressing the increasing demand for Pure Storage's subscription services.
Lynn Lucas herself expressed her excitement at her new role, stating "I am thrilled to take Pure Storage's industry-leading platform to market, and showcase how we help organisations modernise their hybrid cloud data storage and management with simplicity, scalability, and sustainability that only Pure can uniquely deliver. As businesses continue to modernise their storage, I will be laser focused on advancing a strong go-to-market organisation that elevates the Pure Storage brand and drives long-term growth."
Lucas will serve her tenure as CMO of Pure Storage at the company's headquarters in Santa Clara, California.
