OPPO India will launch the Find X9s and Find X9 Ultra in India, expanding its Find X9 smartphone line in the country.

Both handsets sit at the top end of OPPO's camera-focused range. The Find X9 Ultra is aimed at long-range photography and advanced video recording, while the slimmer Find X9s is built around a triple-camera setup for everyday shooting.

The Find X9 Ultra includes a 50-megapixel 10x optical telephoto camera, a 200-megapixel main camera, and a 200-megapixel 3x telephoto camera. It uses a quintuple-prism periscope structure that reflects light five times inside the camera module before it reaches the sensor, giving the phone an equivalent focal length of about 230mm without requiring a larger module.

That design is paired with sensor-shift stabilisation and optical image stabilisation for handheld shooting. The handset is intended for use cases such as concerts, sports, travel, and wildlife photography.

Video focus

Video is also central to the Ultra model. It supports O-Log2 recording, ACES colour workflows, custom 3D LUT integration, 8K video at 30 frames per second, and 4K video at 120 frames per second across the main and telephoto cameras.

Both devices use OPPO's latest Hasselblad Master Camera System and its in-house LUMO Image Engine. According to the company, the software platform manages optics, sensor control, colour science, and image processing to improve clarity, dynamic range, and noise reduction while preserving natural tones and detail.

The Find X9s takes a different approach, combining a triple 50-megapixel Hasselblad camera system with a 7.99mm body, dual-video capture, and AI-based tools through ColourOS 16. It also supports 4K 60fps Dolby Vision recording across all cameras.

The launch highlights how smartphone makers continue to compete on imaging systems in the premium segment, especially as hardware upgrades elsewhere have become more incremental. Camera performance, video quality, and editing functions remain among the clearest ways for brands to differentiate flagship phones.

Chipsets and cooling

The Find X9 Ultra runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, while the Find X9s uses MediaTek's Dimensity 9500s chip built on a 3nm process. Both are paired with OPPO's Trinity Engine software and dedicated cooling systems intended to sustain performance during long shooting sessions.

For the Ultra, the cooling system is described as a 3D Cryo-velocity Cooling System with an encapsulated thermal unit and a thin vapour chamber structure. The Find X9s uses an advanced vapour chamber system with a total heat dissipation area of 32,052.5mm2, which OPPO says is 21.6% larger than the previous generation.

Battery size is another prominent part of the pitch. The Find X9 Ultra carries a 7050mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the Find X9s includes a 7025mAh version. Larger batteries have become a growing focus for smartphone makers in China and India as users demand longer endurance for video recording, gaming, and day-long use without adding too much thickness.

India remains a key market for premium smartphone makers seeking growth beyond the mass market. While the country is still dominated by mid-range devices in unit terms, manufacturers have been trying to build a stronger presence in higher-priced categories by emphasising imaging, design, and local manufacturing.

OPPO has operated in India since 2014 and says it runs a major handset manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It also sells devices across several smartphone series in the market, including Find, Reno, F, K, and A.

Pricing and retail availability for the Find X9s and Find X9 Ultra in India have not yet been disclosed. Those details will be announced at launch.
