RØDE unveils Wireless Micro Camera Kit for versatile audio
RØDE has introduced the Wireless Micro Camera Kit, offering expanded connectivity options for content creators seeking professional audio for a range of camera devices.
The Wireless Micro Camera Kit builds on the foundation set by the original Wireless Micro, adding a second-generation receiver designed for universal compatibility with cameras such as DSLRs, mirrorless devices, and smartphones. The kit features two compact transmitters with integrated microphones and includes both a new on-camera receiver with a 1.1-inch AMOLED display and an additional smartphone receiver.
New features
The wireless microphone system offers automatic transmitter pairing, in-built microphones, and an omnidirectional pickup pattern, designed to capture clear audio from any angle. RØDE has incorporated GainAssist technology, which automatically manages audio levels, aiming to deliver a balanced output without the need for manual adjustment.
The on-camera receiver's AMOLED screen provides immediate access to configuration settings, intended to make adjustments straightforward. The package also includes a cold-shoe mount for camera attachment and windshields for performance in outdoor environments.
Addressing the needs of content creators working across multiple formats, the Wireless Micro Camera Kit supplies both a 3.5mm TRS output and USB-C connectivity, enabling adaptation to a range of cameras and phones. Users with iOS devices can connect via Bluetooth using the RØDE Capture app, which is downloadable free of charge.
